Feeding your dog a diet of Voyager Dog food, which does not contain chelated coppers, copper sulphate or copper proteinate to avoid the accumulation of copper in the liver in the first place. Full recovery from copper-induced hepatopathy is rare. At the very least, your dog will need to follow a strict diet, probably for the rest of its life. Dogs with severe cases will need long term medication. If your dog is displaying symptoms, consult your veterinarian immediately with your concerns.
