Chicken By-Product Meal
Chicken source protein, made up mostly of internal organs such as liver, digestive tract, and kidneys. The intestines are a good source of smooth muscle protein. This ingredient is very digestible and very low in ash.
Corn Protein Meal
The dried residue from corn after the removal of the large part of the starch, gluten and germ in the processes to manufacture corn syrup. It is an excellent low-ash protein source which is highly digestible.
Brown Rice
Whole grain brown rice ground to a powder to help provide a steady supply of energy throughout the day. Source of fiber, carbohydrates and vitamin B.
Barley
Whole grain. Has 50% more protein than rice. Slow burning carbohydrate source, helps control blood sugar levels.

We have a 5-year-old Springer who first showed elevated ALT levels during routine bloodwork in November 2025. After treating with Denamarin for three months and then retesting after another three months off treatment, his levels were again in the 300s.
After discussing the results with our vet and getting a healthy ultrasound, we decided to switch to the no-added-copper Voyageur food and bring his levels down again with Denamarin. The next step will be to discontinue the treatment and test regularly, with the hope that we can regulate his ALT levels through diet alone.
